The Road to Academy Accreditation: How It Works

Registering your academy is the first step toward a thorough verification process. Your annual membership initiates the vetting of your staff and the audit of your safety standards across our 8 Pillars of Protection.
Important Enrollment Notes:

To ensure accurate data collection and individual background verification, our system is currently optimized to process one Owner, Coach, or Staff package per transaction.

If you need to enroll multiple staff members simultaneously, or if you are managing memberships across multiple locations, please contact us at support@academysafe.org.

Our team will generate a single consolidated invoice for your organization and handle the account setups on your behalf to streamline the process.

The Road to Academy Accreditation: How It Works

  1. Background Screening: Professional vetting for all owners and coaches.
  2. U.S. Center for SafeSport: Abuse prevention training and certification.
  3. Concussion Training: Recognizing and managing head injuries.
  4. CPR/First Aid & AED: Current emergency response certifications.
  5. Belt & Lineage Verification: Authentication of coaching ranks and martial arts lineage.
  6. Security Cameras: Verified surveillance in all training areas.
  7. Professional Insurance: Active liability coverage for the academy.
  8. On-Premises AED: Verification of emergency medical equipment on-site.

Staff vs. Owner Requirements

For Academy Owners

Full accreditation requires the completion and verification of all 8 Pillars.

For Staff & Coaches

Individual staff members must be verified in the 5 Essential Safety Pillars (Pillars 1 through 5).

Individual Coach Registration

Can I register as an individual coach?

Yes. Coaches are encouraged to begin their verification process independently. While verified individual coaches will be listed on their academy’s page, the academy itself will not be marked as “Accredited” until the owner and all staff members have successfully completed the full verification process.
