Thank you for taking your first step towards registering your academy with Academy Safe.
DO NOT purchase this product if you have lived outside of the USA or Canada in the last 7 years for 6 months or longer, you must request an International Background package instead. Navigate back to the main shop page and pick the appropriate program.
After your purchase, we will open your account and email you within 24 to 48 hours. Once you receive your access email from our SportsEngine platform, you will be able to initiate your background check right away. After that you can start your SafeSport certification and Concussion course. An Academy Safe staff member will be in touch to complete all other steps.
Staff & Coaches: As an academy owner, we encourage you to pay for each staff member and coach to sign up as well at $75 per person. You can find the Staff/Coach Membership option on the shops main page. You are not obligated to pay for staff/coaches but you will not be able to receive your full accreditation from Academy Safe until each staff member and coach has signed up and completed all applicable steps to becoming a member.
All academy staff members 18 years of age or older, including those working on a part-time or short-term basis, are required to register with Academy Safe for the academy to maintain accreditation. You have 90 days to complete all required certifications, and you may log in anytime to upload documents and finish courses. Please note: If an owner, coach, or staff member does not pass the background check or fails to complete Academy Safe requirements, the academy will still be listed on AcademySafe.org with a note indicating the failure to pass the check along with any unmet requirements. This applies to all registered staff members.
Your membership fee covers background checks, U.S. Center for SafeSport training, and Concussion Training, as well as Academy Safe’s verification of essential certifications such as CPR, First Aid, AED, security cameras, business insurance, and belt rank/lineage. Any costs to complete these certifications are your responsibility.
If you work at multiple academies, your accreditations will carry over to other academies registered with Academy Safe. You will need to contact us via phone or email to have that taken care of. Background checks and concussion training are valid for two years, while SafeSport certification is valid for one year, with a refresher course offered after the first year. Other certifications must be renewed as per their industry standards, and you will receive email reminders for upcoming renewals.
We reserve the right to list all applicants on our website during the accreditation process to show their progress and may deny or remove any member, academy or applicant at our discretion.
Note: Academy Safe is not a reporting service or government agency. For complaints about a coach, staff member, or academy, please contact one of the entities on our resources page. If a child or adult is in immediate danger, dial 911 or contact your local police department immediately.
Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued once payment is made.
